    YOGA POSE BREAKDOWN: Warrior I Sanskrit: Virabhadrasana I Today we discuss Warrior I pose or Virabhadrasana I. A member of the powerful Warrior Poses, this particular pose is commonly started from Downward Facing Dog or from Mountain pose. It is a standing & strength posture and is common in vinyasa flow classes. Some believe it’s complicated and choose to skip it altogether and replace it with Crescent Lunge, changing the placement of the back foot from a 45 degree angle in Warrior I to taking those back toes pointed towards the top of your mat.     Did you know forward folding is all about subtle adjustments in your core to create "space" in the body. But this pose also requires you to be mindful in allowing time and patience as your body adjusts to the extremities that specifically Standing Forward Folds truly are.     Today we breakdown Four-Limbed Staff Pose. Sanskrit: Chaturanga Dandasana This asana is one of the most frequently practiced poses next to Down Dog in Ashtanga & Vinyasa Flow styled yoga classes. It is also a major strength builder for the arms and shoulders as well as the core. It is typically practiced in tandem with upward-facing dog transitioning to downward-facing dog incorporating a specific meditative flow with breath. This pose can cause injury to wrists and rotator cuff of the shoulder if practiced incorrectly or with overuse. This pose should be done with patience & care.
