He walked into the local Australian Army on his 17th birthday and signed up for service perhaps not really knowing that within 2 years he would be in the war zone of Somalia, this was the start of an incredible journey which would later turn in to 2 books that Bram has written about battle and wars. As a teenager and into his 20’s Bram was good at things, he didn’t have to try super hard to get by so didn’t, this all changed when on return from SAS selection in 1994 he was called out by a colleague and exposed in his failure to be recruited to one of the most elite fighting forces in the world, his pledge was to return and to be selected. • #555: Creating “non negotiables” in life

    25/08/2019 Duração: 15min

Rules, rules, rules you may say and I will say yes. We need a set of rules for life if we are going to perform optimal and live the very best life we can. Right now the world seems like it is constantly out to distract us, feed us things that seems nice but we do not really need to be eating, give us a number of reasons (excuses) not to go and workout but to do something else, even if that something else is just sitting on the couch watching Netflix. If we don’t have a set of rules for ourselves to live by, a set of non negotiables then there is every chance we all slip into the brutal rut of eating things that do not take us toward our goals, staying up late and missing out on our sleep or missing a workout and generally losing track of lie in more ways than one. I hope that this show will leave you thinking about what things in your life just need to be non negotiable and you will stick with them.

  • #553: Travel hacks to stay fit, healthy and feeling awesome!

    18/08/2019 Duração: 14min

We all travel a lot more than we used to and it is epic. However along with our increased travel is the increased dilemma of what to eat and what training to do when you are traveling. Then of course you have a meltdown on what to pack, how many sets of running kit and so the list goes on.This year I have been on half a dozen trips to various countries ranging from the French Alps to the beauty that is Malawi. For the most part I have eaten clean food (yeah I have had some cheats which I talk about in this show) and on all trips I have trained in some shape or form. For those of you that have been following the show for a while you will pretty much know I have a rule of only taking hand luggage and it has to be 10kg or less. So here are my tips in the hope that you guys can continue to enjoy travel but travel light, eat well and stay active on your trips.

    11/08/2019 Duração: 19min

This years CrossFit games came to an end last Sunday after 4 days of what can only be described as brutal competition. The format of the 2019 season was new which saw 150 individual males and the same number of females from around the world toe the start line at this the most sought after event on the CrossFit calendar. There was no room for errors as the field starts to get cut from event 1 and continued to be almost halved every event for the next 5 events until after the first event on Saturday morning just 10 males and 10 females were left in the CrossFit games. There has been a backlash of comments around the world in CrossFit communities and as you could expect throughout social media as everyone had an opinion (athletes included) as to if this was the right way to find the fittest on earth for 2019. • #543: 17 thoughts from the mountains with Marcus Smith

    14/07/2019 Duração: 18min

Believe or not being at some sort of altitude somehow brings some great clarity to thinking, not all the time but when you are not totally oxygen deprived and you sit and take a minute to look around.I was recently in Chamonix on a training weekend and spent a lot of time thinking as you generally do when you are out running for 6 hours at a time. I then got back to Dubai and as my “coach the coach” delivered these 17 points that I had scribbled down on the plane on the way back. The team liked what I had to say so I thought why not turn it into a podcast so you guys can maybe understand a bit of my temporary madness.
