The mere mention of the book of Revelation tends to bring about very strong feelings.  Some people love to debate theories about what will happen at the end of the world.  Some people just say, “I know Who wins and where I’m going, and that’s all that matters.”  Some people are afraid to even open the Bible near the back because they fear they will inadvertently read a passage that will give them nightmares.  We have made the book of Revelation to be a book of fear, debate, and “hidden secrets of the future.”  However, God did not intend any of this when He gave us this book.  Today we will explore God’s true intention for the book of Revelation.

We worry a lot. We want to stop but we don't know how. There's an app for that! God has no intention of letting us stew. Jesus spoke very directly about this. He provides a perspective and a reality to help us in this area.

The Lord has given His people clear responsibilities to the nations into which He has placed them. Too often we in America become distracted and fail to be faithful in this stewardship of life.

Identity is an issue for people. Some people can't seem to figure out who they are. Some can't seem to move on to an adult version of themselves. Jesus had no problem with His identity. Others may have struggled with who He was, but this was not an issue for Him. Today is no different.

Juan Carlos Ortiz said, "In Argentina we sometimes use this baptismal formula: 'I kill you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and I make you born into the Kingdom of God to serve Him and to please Him.' It's different, but it works much better." In this sermon we start to counter our problem with forgiveness by returning to the foundational call of Christ.

"I imagine that one of the reasons people cling to their hates so stubbornly is because they sense, once the hate is gone, that they will be forced to deal with the pain." (James Baldwin) A wounded person has a terrible problem with close relationships. God understands this and draws us to Himself and truth.

C.S. Lewis said, "Everyone says that forgiveness is a lovely idea, until they have something to forgive." Someone gossiped about you or betrayed you. Someone cheated on you or lied to you. Someone did something to you that you can't forget. You've carried the pain deep inside for a long time and you can't seem to get rid of it. What keeps us in this unforgiving place?

This chapter helps us understand the fullness of living in Jesus Christ as we face a tough world. Allow God to embrace your heart in this message and you will be energized to live in Him.

There is just so much you can change and maintain about the way you live your life. God gives you an invitation to a supernatural makeover.

How do I find true peace with God, with other people, and with myself? For the messes you and I have made, God alone offers a way to take care of them.

Dating is a critically important time for couples. This is your chance to really learn about the other person. Walk away from those not good for you. Walk with those who love you in God-honoring ways.

At times there is an attraction between a man and a woman. Maybe this speaks of some common interests in life. Or perhaps it's just a pure physical attraction in some way. If they are single, this can be addressed in a healthy, God-honoring way.

Jonah had another chance to obey God and he didn’t want to blow it this time. God gave him a large task, and Jonah realized he couldn’t do it alone. We need God to provide what we lack.
