  • "Just quit tomorrow"...Running 3,931km across Australia with Troy Jones

    On June 12th Troy Jones completed his 3,931 kilometer foot crossing of Australia as he arrived in Sydney having set off from Perth 74 days earlier. A trip packed with highs and lows from not having access to basic supplies to wanting to break his ankle so he could stop. All for a great cause as Troy told us back in show 685 he was running to raise funds and awareness for the Mindful charity helping develop education for mental health. In this show he shares the experience with us, the number of pairs of shoes he went through, his experience around eating raw pasta and his amazing girlfriend who supported him during his two month run. It is free from processed food, dairy products, grains, sugar and legumes but based around plants, animal products, vegetables, fruits and nuts.   • Saving lives with cave diver & anaesthetist Dr Richard Harris

    Richard "Harry" Harris, SC, OAM, is an Australian anaesthetist and cave diver who played a crucial role in the Tham Luang cave rescue. He and Craig Challen were jointly awarded 2019 Australian of the Year as a result of that rescue. In June and July 2018, a widely publicized cave rescue saved the lives of members of a junior football team who were trapped inside the Tham Luang Nang Non cave in Chiang Rai Province, Thailand. Twelve members of the team, aged eleven to sixteen, and their 25-year-old assistant coach entered the cave on 23 June after football practice. Shortly afterwards, heavy rains partially flooded the cave, blocking their way out. In this show Harry talks us through the rescue that he had such a crucial role in from the moment his phone rang to the end of the rescue effort. It's epic!!   • Tokyo Olympics with Paralympian Matt Bush

    Matt Bush is an incredible human being with an incredible mindset who was born with half of his left arm missing. He has a goal to win gold in Taekwondo in the Tokyo Paralympics. Matt started playing sports from a  young age making it to county level for football and rugby. He threw the qualifying distance for the javelin in the Rio Olympics but did not go due to an injury.  It was after this that he transitioned to Taekwondo and started fighting internationally. Simultaneously he became the number 1 in Great Britain for shot putt but sadly had to isolate during the selection competition ruling him out of throwing in Tokyo.  He has however qualified for Tokyo in Taekwondo and is preparing to win gold there as he explains in the show.
