Frank is a Connecticut State Certified Baseball Umpire and has spent more than 30 years with the Greater New Haven Baseball Umpires Association. In 2024 Frank received the Gassira Umpire Award. It is awarded annually to a local umpire who exhibits the passion, sportsmanship and teachings of Andrew Gassira. Gassira was a lifelong resident of the New Haven area, who passed away in October, 1979 and dedicated himself to the community including, but not limited to, the Greater New Haven Baseball Umpires Association.
