Celebrating our eight year anniversary with umpire Frank Pallone and Smoke 'n Magic's Bre Via and Brad Colter Frank Pallone started umpiring at the age of 13 and has been at it ever since.  Frank is a Connecticut State Certified Baseball Umpire and has spent more than 30 years with the Greater New Haven Baseball Umpires Association.  In 2024 Frank received the Gassira Umpire Award.  It is awarded annually to a local umpire who exhibits the passion, sportsmanship and teachings of Andrew Gassira.  Gassira was a lifelong resident of the New Haven area, who passed away in October, 1979 and dedicated himself to the community including, but not limited to, the Greater New Haven Baseball Umpires Association.  Frank loves umpiring and provides a fascinating look into what he does and how he does it.
