#639 The past and future of community fitness
14/06/2020 Duração: 11min15 years ago there was no “box”, you walked into gyms and nobody smiled at you or knew your name. CrossFit was a huge force behind breaking that down. At these challenging times lets also remember the good times that this brand has given us all, the lives it has changed and the livelihoods it has created. We do not agree or support the recent comments of the CEO of CrossFit, however in this show we remember the good times and talk about how the future may look. I am sure this is not the last time we will discuss this topic on the show.

It is always amazing to chat to Hanan as she has so many thought provoking thoughts and delivers them in such a unique way. #629: Data, vaccine and the environment!
10/05/2020 Duração: 13minThe world never stopped spinning but everything ground to a halt almost like a large ship coming to a stand still. We all knew things would start to move again but no one knew nor does really know what is going to happen next. In this show I talk about data and the fact that in the last year I have read several articles about data theft and peoples fear of who is listening to their phones but when I asked people if they would use a data tracking app to cure Corona the majority said yes. We have also heard rumors about a vaccine becoming available within 12-18 months, however it normally takes around 10 years to develop a vaccine, would you be keen to be one of the first to have a shot? And then for all the positive impact we have seen on the environment lately there is a legit fear as increased hygiene seems to mean increased plastic so are we better staying home? Enjoy the show!

26/04/2020 Duração: 01h06minEvery Sunday InnerFight Endurance hold “Sunday Sessions” which is an hour chat about life, races and adventures. Last week I joined Tom Walker to chat about our ride across the Wahiba Desert on Fat Bikes in 2018. I got my first taste for Wahiba back in 2014 and have since run across this 145km baron land and ridden a fat bike over it. It is truly a unique place, you don’t see anyone, the sand is soft, the sun is hot and the dunes just keep rolling. In this show we talk about the joy of adventure, of just doing something with some mates and having a great time whilst at the same time pushing our bodies and minds. Thanks for listening, enjoy the show.

#624: I wanted to live more than I wanted to die with Andy Philips
23/04/2020 Duração: 45min"Well here is abit about me, my name is Andrew Phillips and im 37 years old. I’m an ultra runner and an all around fitness guy who’s been involved in every aspect of fitness from golf, triathlons, swimming, trail and road races, CrossFit and strength training. I suffered with anxiety from a young age for roughly about 20+ years from as far back as primary school. 7 years ago I had a total mental break down to the point I couldn’t leave the house and if I did I couldn’t leave praa sands where I lived, where this went on for a good 6 months. This was only a small part of what I went through, getting back out into the real world was the hardest challenge almost like climbing a mountain that never ended. This journey wasn’t done alone I also needed my own coach to get me through it, and this is what I would like to give back to people because recovery can sometimes be a long road back. I was also stuck in a domestic abusive relationship which made everything so much worse as I was completely trapped.” If th

#623: My event is cancelled what do I do?
19/04/2020 Duração: 13minWith so many events cancelled, things that we have been working towards for weeks month or even years may have no new date for us to aim for. This in itself has thrown may of us into total meltdown. But why when we hear from so many motivational experts phrases like: “process not outcome” or “journey not destination” are we still freaking out? My personal view is that this is a great time, a time to practice being more present and more conscious and opportunity to create an insane amount of focus in many areas of out life and a big area being out training. I hope that you get some value from the show. Stay home stay safe and remember #fitnessisthecure

Shane is not in what we are reading as the high risk category for COVID 19, he is mid 40’s, fit and happy. However as he says this virus does not discriminate at all and it got him. He speaks openly about his experiences and certainly gives us a lot to think about. He has also got worldwide coverage on his fight with the virus which started with this Facebook video to let friends and family know where he was!

#620: Leveraging social media for humanity with Kris Fade
09/04/2020 Duração: 45minIf you live in Dubai then Kris Fade is certainly a name that you would know….the man behind the Virgin Radio breakfast show. If you don’t live in Dubai and to give this show some context Kris Fade moved to Dubai just over 10 years ago on a "whim and a prayer.” Since then with his team of presenters he has built the biggest breakfast radio show in the region. Not only that but Kris has risen as somewhat of a local social media star working with some top regional and global brands to drive home their messages. A highlight for Kris certainly has to be when he hosted the Pope in Abu Dhabi in 2019. If you have not heard Kris on the radio or seen him at an event then just hop over to his Instagram flick back a week or so and have a look at how he first offered up his platform to support local businesses during these challenging times. Truly remarkable. Kris continues to drive the message of leveraging his social media to help people that are having tough times right now and we discuss this more in this show as wel
