Walking In Truth

Praise God for the life-giving power of those words! His love is more powerful than the vilest of sin. As Pastor Johnny continues our study of Jesus’ letters to the seven Churches, we’ll be reminded of how great God’s love is for us. Nothing in this world can separate you from that love once you’ve accepted it into your heart.

While you may mean well, when you encounter someone in the depth of a trial, you don’t need to have the answers for them. You don’t need to figure out why they’re there. As Pastor Johnny will point out in today’s message, at that moment, just being there with them is a better help than trying to fix their problem.

Why is it so easy to find excuses not to go to church? Maybe it’s too rainy, or maybe it’s a beautiful day and your fishing rod is calling… As Pastor Johnny will point out in today’s message, it’s sobering to think that there are people who are willing to die for the Kingdom of God, while we struggle to give up our Sunday morning. 

As Pastor Johnny will point out in today’s message, this is all too common in today’s Church. You can readily find congregations and entire denominations that won’t even reference Scripture, or worse, the name of Jesus, for fear of offending or coming off as radical. Jesus should be our entire reason for existing as the Church.

Have you ever tried walking up a hill covered with wet grass? It’s an exercise. One carelessly placed step can easily send you sliding down the hill. As Pastor Johnny will warn in today’s message, as believers, we can easily find ourselves sliding back into sin - we need the hand of the Holy Spirit to pull us along.

In today’s message, Pastor Johnny will examine Jesus’ letter to the church of Ephesus. Usually, it’s polite not to read other people’s mail, but in this case, the Church of Ephesus - while a real group of believers, also represents a type of believer or church, and bears the truth that all of us can benefit from.

God is not done with Israel. His relationship with them demonstrates his long-suffering and unfathomable grace. They were chosen to be a blessing to all nations and point them toward Him. But, as Pastor Johnny will point out in today’s message, sadly, the majority of them have rejected God’s Son. 

You’ve been given a great gift in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. You’ve heard it. Have you taken it into your heart? As Pastor Johnny will challenge us in today’s message, once you take this life-giving message into your heart, you need to let it come to the surface of your life as a witness to the lost people around you.

No human being can know the day or hour that Jesus will return. God’s perspective on time is much different than ours, but as Pastor Johnny will warn in today’s message when we look at the world around us, events and circumstances seem to be closely aligned with the prophecies we find in the book of Revelation.

In your walk with Christ, have you ever felt weary from your work for the Kingdom? Have you ever felt like you’re doing everything you can for the Lord, but the closeness just isn’t there? In today’s message, Pastor Johnny wants you to know that no matter how difficult the going gets, you need to always stick to who you are through the Lord. There will always be confusing seasons of feeling disconnected from God, but you can’t use these times to grow even further from Him. Always turn to God. He’ll never let you down. 

One of the biggest misconceptions about God is the notion that He sends people to hell. We might see signs on university campuses or social media posts declaring that God will send you to hell if you don’t repent, but this isn’t the truth. Today, Pastor Johnny explains that the only thing God wants is to usher you into His kingdom. You shouldn’t feel scared straight into accepting God into your heart and instead should make the decision on your own accord. God will never force you, but He wants to dwell with you in eternity. 

In your walk with Christ, do you take the book of Revelation to heart? Or do you avoid it because you don’t want to think about the end times of Earth? Maybe you read too far into the details to determine when the Lord will return. In today’s message, Pastor Johnny wants you to know that if you want to grow in your closeness with God, you need to consume the book of Revelation just like any other book of His Word. It shouldn’t be something that stirs up fear in your heart, but rather an opportunity to rejoice in God’s greatness. 

Do you hear the sense of urgency in Pastor Johnny’s voice? That’s because as you hear this message today, the time continues to tick toward the end-times. Pastor Johnny desires for you to get right with God, to know what you believe, and to be looking forward to something greater. Where’s your heart today?

What is it that compels you to talk to a friend about the latest sports event? You want to connect with them in some way and have some common ground. Today, Pastor Johnny encourages you to be motivated to tell others about Jesus, because you don’t have all the time in the world. An end is coming soon.

You’ve heard of things predicted all of your life. But when will the end times actually happen? Pastor Johnny gives you some clues today that make it clear that it’s in the near future. This doesn’t need to scare you, if you’re tracking with what the Bible says, and you choose to believe what the Bible teaches.

How are you living your life in these days? Are you living as if you need to get all the fun and all the partying in while you’re young? Or are you living in a way that’s mindful that Jesus is coming back, and it could be at any moment? Pastor Johnny warns you today that Jesus could come at any time…are you ready?

A dam is something that holds back the full force of water. Did you realize that right now, God is holding back His judgment and His fury on the world? He’s protecting you right now from a world that will be judged for its sin. But today, Pastor Johnny mentions that someday, God’s wrath will come like a flood.

Hearing about the end times can be a terrifying thing to think about. But as you’ll notice today, Pastor Johnny reminds you that if you have believed in Jesus as your Savior, there’s nothing to worry about. Something else is up ahead for you to look forward to, and you won’t be a part of the things happening on Earth.

When you think about end times, do you have a doomsday mentality? If you know and follow Jesus, don’t look down, but look up! Look expectantly for when you get to go to a better place! And although this earth will go down to destruction, you have hope for something better! Pastor Johnny tells you more…today! 

So what, or who - do you get your source of truth from? As you’re hearing already, many people turn the news on and automatically assume that it’s all true. But in most cases, the news is planting false ideas into your head, and feeding your fear! Pastor Johnny encourages you to live differently today!
