As we enter into our study of Colossians chapter 2, Pastor Renfro takes us through the first ten verses. The apostle Paul was doing his best to tell the Colossians that Christ was completely sufficient and that they must be careful to avoid a "Jesus+Plus" mentality of needing something in addition to Christ. May we heed this warning as well in this latest message from Paul's letter to the church in Colossae.

As intelligent beings created in God's own image, we have been designed to fear God and to bring Him glory. If we are fearing Him as we are created to, then we will naturally have a greater worship of the Almighty God and Creator. It's both a sobering and encouraging time as we hear from both Matt and Corneliu as they update us on the work of Broken Walls International in the former Communist republic.

Suffering is something that we as Christians grudgingly admit is part of life following Christ. We know that Scripture speaks about it and we know Christ endured it. Yet here in the first chapter of Colossians, Paul speaks about rejoicing in suffering. REJOICING?!?? Really?? That would seem to be very difficult.
