This week, Joel elaborates on how we can heed God's Warning

Today, Eli talks about knowing God's nearness and treasuring His presence. God is so holy that it's hard to see how God is so near. Eli will elaborate on how there is nothing more similar to God than us because we were made in His image, but also nothing so different.

Today, Eli goes through 2 Kings and the work of Elisha after Elijah was taken to Heaven. Eli explains how God works through people and He always has and always will. God has the desire, capacity, and power to use your life to do great things for the Kingdom of God and we need to have a faithful response.

Continuing from last week, Joel finishes up 1 Kings. With a downward trend of kings who have choosen unrighteousness over righteousness, we are introduced to Elijah. Joel focuses today's message on what we learn about God through the life of Elijah.

He explains that if your desire is to be effective and have a successful family/career/friendships/fruitful ministry, but that desire overtakes the desire to rely on God for personal holiness, whether or not you succeed or fail in those endeavourers it will end in disaster.
