Ohio State and Notre Dame were the big winners last weekend on the football field, earning big wins over ranked opponents. We talk about their playoff chances and touch up on these other topics: Clemson's quarterback situation with Trevor Lawrence taking the starting job and Kelly Bryant deciding to leave the program. This past week saw seven teams in the bottom half of the top 25 lose - with five of them being upsets. We look at the five upsets - Virginia Tech (Old Dominion), Mississippi State (Kentucky), Oklahoma State (Texas Tech), TCU (Texas), Boston College (Purdue) We also talk about how the top 12 did not have a single loss in it and who survived the biggest scare. Also, which team has the longest road back to where they want to be? The biggest story in college football this week is Ohio State placing head coach Urban Meyer on paid administrative lead to investigate his possible knowledge of allegations from a 2015 domestic violence incident involving one of his assistant coaches. We discuss this and look into the preseason edition of the Amway Coaches Poll. We talk about which team's rankings surprised us. The NCAA announced on Wednesday new changes in relation to transfers and redshirt eligibility.  We discuss how the new transfer rule will work and how it will affect student-athletes wanting to move to a new school. We also talk about the new redshirt eligibility that allows a student-athlete to play up to four games in a season and not lose their red shirt. The bowl lineup is also looking to expand in the coming years and we wonder if the sport can handle 43 bowl games and what that landscape could look like.
