Dr. Kenneth Judy is a 1964 graduate of Georgetown University and a 1968 graduate of New York University College of Dentistry. During and after his pre-doctoral studies, Dr. Judy was the recipient of several research fellowships. He then trained in surgical prosthetics with Dr. Isiah Lew at the New French and Polyclinic Medical School and Health Center in New York. Dr. Judy has authored over one hundred research and clinical articles, editorials and textbook chapters. He has lectured extensively nationally and internationally.  Dr. Judy is a Clinical Professor of Implant Dentistry at New York University as well as a Clinical Professor in the Periodontal department at Temple University. Dr. Resnik is a one of the original faculty and founding members of the Misch Institute since 1988 and worked alongside Dr. Carl Misch for over 30 years. He is internationally known as a leading educator, clinician, author and researcher in the field of Oral Implantology and Prosthodontics. He received his dental education from the University of Pittsburgh along with his specialty degree in Prosthodontics, Surgical Fellowship in Oral Implantology, and a Master’s degree in Oral Implantology/Radiology.  Currently, Dr. Resnik is a Clinical Professor of Oral Implantology and Periodontics at Temple University in Philadelphia, Adjunct Professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine Department of Graduate Prosthodontics, faculty at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh and the Surgical Director and Chief of Staff of the Misch International Implant Institute. Dr. Mark Bishara graduated from the UWO Medical Biophysics program and was selected as a gold medal recipient for being the top graduate of his academic program. Following this, he continued his studies at the University of Western Ontario dental school. Although he enjoys all aspects of dentistry, he has a very special interest in all surgical procedures including implant placement and full mouth rehabilitation. He also excels in working with children and looks forward to seeing families grow with him in our Bowmanville Dental office. With appearances on rogers TV and as proud member of the Bowmanville rotary club, Dr Mark looks forward to helping others in the community for years to come with our free dental day initiative hosted twice a year. Grant Bullis, director of implant R&D and digital manufacturing at Glidewell Laboratories, began his dental industry career at Steri-Oss (now Nobel Biocare) in 1997. Since joining the lab in 2007, Grant has been integral in obtaining FDA 510(k) clearances for the company’s Inclusive® Mini Implants, Tapered Implant System and Custom Implant Abutments. Alfred Heller, DDS, M. S., has placed more than 20,000 implants since 1969. He earned his DDS (1962) and M. S. (1974) from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry. He is an Honored Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID). He also served on the Admissions and Credentials Board of AAID for seven years. In 1980, he founded the Midwest Implant Institute (MII). He is Board Certified in Oral Implantology by the American Board of Oral Implantology. Dr. Dunson completed his undergraduate studies with a degree in biology in 1987. After, he entered the dental program at the University of Southern California (USC), where he received a Doctorate in Dental Surgery (DDS) in 1991. He then attended Columbia University’s general dentistry residency program at Harlem Hospital in New York. After completing the residency, Dr. Dunson returned to Georgia, and in 1992, he began practicing as an associate in Atlanta. Dr. Maurice A. Salama completed his undergraduate studies at the State University of New York at Binghamton in 1985, where he received his BS in Biology. Implant selection and positioning can be confidently addressed with thorough, prosthetically driven treatment planning. The appropriate size and spacing of dental implants in the posterior is determined by carefully assessing the anatomy of the ridge, the restorative space available, and the long-term needs of the patient. The edentulous span must be evaluated to identify the appropriate implant size for each site. First, the mesial-distal distance between the teeth adjacent to the edentulous space is measured. Then, the implant sizes are determined, allowing for 1.5 mm of space between the shoulder of each implant and the neighboring tooth, and 3 mm between adjacent implants. Buccolingually, allow for 1–2 mm of bone on each side of the implant.
