A new year reminds us of our universal longing to be made new. We intuitively understand that misplaced priorities lead to misspent lives, but we don't know how to experience real change. We'll start by asking: what can we not afford to let fall?

This Christmas, we examine why the story of Jesus continues to stand the test of time. We celebrate His birth and the salvation He brought to us.

We often find ourselves wondering: is peace really possible? God has a supernatural solution--the peace of Jesus, who came to bring peace to everyone and everything by his work on the cross and who is himself our peace.

The truth is we were without God and without hope in the world, but now, because of Jesus, we have been brought near to God. Now that we live with God, we live with hope and peace given by the very presence of God.

Surrounded by the chaos of our world, we are in pursuit of peace. We often wonder if peace is even possible in our inner worlds. But God offers us a complete peace-wholeness, harmony, fulfillment-by a gift of grace.

We're all asking: How do I live above my circumstances? The answer: God's grace & power. God says: My grace is sufficient for you; my power is made perfect in weakness (2 Cor 12:19). And prayer is the pathway to experiencing the power of God.

When it comes to salvation, God made it simple, even though we tend to complicate it. You are included in the family of God when you hear the good news and believe Jesus, and the Holy Spirit is a down payment of what's to come so you can be confident.

To replace our often misplaced self worth, we have to admit we need rescue and accept how God defines us: redeemed and in Christ. You have a God who pursued you and bought you back, and says you are worth it all.

This week, we take time to stop and breathe in deep the grace of God as a community.

The idea of "adoption" or "sonship" is threaded through the New Testament, and it reminds us who and what we belong to. When we understand adoption accurately, it changes how we live and how we relate to God and to others. It offers us complete assurance of God's love, fosters freedom from fear, and invites us to access the special relationship we can have with our Heavenly Father.

We spend our lives looking and longing to be chosen. It shapes us. So much of our identity is wrapped up in being chosen or not chosen. So it's no accident that Paul mentions first: you are chosen by God. God looks at you and says, "I choose you."

God wants to correct your vision, to show you what's true of you that you never knew. God wants something for you far more than he wants something from you. With grace you now live from a place of being blessed, not working for God's blessing.
