In this sermon--an installment in Pictures of the Cross leading into the conclusion of our series in Mark--we see 4 points being made about Christ: He was (1) despised and rejected, (2) our perfect substitute, (3) our willing sacrifice, (4) and our hope. Jesus humbly submitted to the will of the Father, that he might serve as our perfect substitutionary atonement. Without this perfect sacrifice, we have no hope of unity with the Father.
