HE SHALL BE CALLED Overview At this time of year we’re pretty used to seeing Christmas cards with pictures of a baby in a manger, surrounded by farm animals. It’s unusual but not entirely crazy. But what if the baby lying in that manger was actually God? Sounds crazy, but 700 years before Jesus was born, the prophet Isaiah foretold the arrival of a baby who would also be known as ‘Mighty God’. Jesus himself later pointed to his identity as God. So if the baby in that manger was actually God in human form, how does that change the picture of Christmas? And what difference does it make to us once Christmas is over?
