It's one of those passages that come up in conversation but one that we usually prefer not to discuss. In the last section of chapter 2 of Colossians, Paul is addressing some hotly-debated thoughts as to various practices of believers in their everyday lives. Are we as forgiving and understanding as we should be in this area? Do we force our own sense of morality on others? Paul is not addressing the Gospel and the main things in Scripture but rather those things for which we must answer to in our own consciences.
