Walked the aisle, 'prayed the prayer.' This is a commonly repeated expression in Christian circles as we describe our conversion story to others. But does 'praying the prayer' do anything? What does it actually have to do with becoming a follower and a believer of Christ? The first few verses of 1 John chapter 2 remind us that being a Christian is not defined by repeating a certain sequence of words. It is so much more than that and we can actually KNOW if we are in the faith.
