What is the Gospel?  Is it a warm comfy blanket on a cold dreary day?  Is it the promise of prosperity and riches?  Is it a "Get Out of Jail Free" card when we do bad things?  No!  The Gospel, simply put, is the good news of Jesus Christ in the midst of the bad news of this world.  The Gospel is relevant to life today.  The Gospel changes everything.  The Gospel is good news for everyone.  The Apostle Paul writes in Galatians 1:6-11, that any gospel other than the Gospel of Jesus Christ is no gospel at all.  The gospel the world tries to peddle is diluted at best and polluted with self as the focus of all things.  The Gospel was never meant to be man-centered, but rooted solely in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  It is only by His blood that we can experience the amazing grace of God.  In this first week of a short message series focused on the Gospel, we discuss what happens when the Gospel of Jesus is not the focus of our lives.
