Statistics say that eight out of ten (8 of 10) kids will distance themselves from the church by the time they are 20 years old. That is a staggering number, and is the focus of much concern for parents and churches alike! Why is there such an exodus of teens abandoning the church and their faith? Those of us who are parents know, kids do not come with instruction manuals, but the Bible has lots to say about how parents are to raise their children. Most people feel that their job as a parent is to help their kids get a great education, excel in music and sports, find a great job and the perfect mate. God says that the job of a parent is to show their kids what it means to truly love the Lord and serve Him wholeheartedly. Biblical parenting should propel instead of prevent our kids to love God and love others (the Greatest Commandment and the Golden Rule). Parenting is tough, and definitely not for cowards.
