In Deuteronomy 29:29, Moses writes, "The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of the law." We struggle with "secret things" don't we? Our society promotes the idea that we have the right to know how and why things happen. We want an answer to the question "If God is so good, why does He allow suffering?" This is an age-old question, that fits into the category of "secret things that belong to God." We live in a fallen world where death, suffering, pain and struggles are a reality. What if instead of seeing ourselves as victims of evil and pain, we saw suffering as a tool that God uses to glorify His Name? Ultimately, God has always been (and still is) in control.
