Most of us are familiar with the Exodus story where God freed His people from four hundred years Egyptian oppression and led the Israelite nation to the Promised Land. After millions left Egypt, the people spent 40 years wandering in the desert learning about obedience, faith and God's leadership. When Israel was finally ready to take possession of the Promised Land, God took time to address them and give them wisdom in their new endeavor. Knowing Israel's history and struggles with obedience and faith, what would you want to tell the Israelite people at this moment? God could have talked about government structure and leadership.
