Pure Opelka

Mike tells the compelling story of Peter Vechter, who was killed trying to escape to West Berlin on August 17, 1962. As he lay bleeding, West German soldiers threw bandages over the wall; the East side did nothing. Mike was inspired, at the age of 5, to protect his baby brother George from Communists after his mother tried to lovingly explain Berlin to her children.
