Hurry is our way of life. We rush from one thing to the next. We wear busyness as a badge of honor. All in an effort to be successful, to leave our mark on the world, but rarely do we experience the abundant life that Jesus came to give us. One of the things that is striking when you read the Gospels is how often Jesus withdrew to lonely places to pray. Jesus lived the most impactful life in all of human history, and he had regular rhythms to silence, solitude and prayer that sustained Him. In a world of non-stop, constant noise and distraction we need the life-giving practices of Jesus more now than ever.
