It’s been one year since lockdown started. But Jacob, Brandy, and Mike don’t dwell on this today. Instead, they tell us about several DMV breweries celebrating anniversaries that are worth pouring many delicious, overflowing pints.  Mike then sits down with Jeff Ramirez, Chief Beer Officer at Denizens Brewing. Jeff takes us to the German-Austrian countryside, a place nestled at the foot of the Alps. Since we can’t actually be there, Denizens is bringing it to us through the Hike The Alps series. We believe Black History Month is to be celebrated all year. Today, we celebrate black-owned businesses in the DC area.  Mike sits down with Eamoni, aka The Vibe Queen aka The Traveling Beer Babe of Right Proper Brewing. Eamoni is an independent artist who works to share stories of women and people of color in the DC beer industry. Eamoni tells us about the black-owned businesses in DC that deserve all the recognition. Jacob returns to his conversation with Justin Cox of Atlas Brew Works to conclude their discussion on the woes of distributing DC beers to other states. Justin then tells us about the exciting beer collaboration with Miles Gray, a pillar of the DC beer scene and founder of Smith Golden Rule. CAMRA was established in 1971 as a consumer group representing real ale drinkers in the UK. Today, it is a 200,000 member organization advocating for quality ale and promoting pubs as social and cultural hubs.In response to the UK’s closure of all pubs due to COVID-19, CAMRA developed a virtual pub called the Red (On)Lion. There is reason for cautious optimism for breweries amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Richard speaks with three guests about how the recent signing of the CARES Act will help breweries, how breweries and restaurants are quickly adapting to the new market, and what publishers are doing to help struggling breweries.The Brewers’ Association Looks to Build Upon the CARES ActBob Pease, President and CEO of the Brewers’ Association (BA) gives Richard his thoughts about how the CARES Act could help craft breweries during the coronavirus pandemic.
