This Sunday we celebrated Venture Church’s 21st birthday and continued our Journey Through Ephesians series with a powerful message from Pastor Brandon Beals. In Ephesians chapter 2, Paul reminds us that through Jesus, the walls that once divided us are torn down. What once separated Jews and Gentiles — insiders and outsiders — has been destroyed by the cross. We are now one family, one body, and one church united by grace. This week at Venture, Pastor Di continued our Break Free series with a powerful and practical message on closing the doors we’ve left open to the enemy. Through Scripture, personal stories, and clear teaching, Pastor Di showed us how sin, unchecked heart issues, compromise, and unresolved trauma can open doors that give the enemy access to our lives. But the good news is this: those doors can be shut through the power of Jesus. Using the story of Cain and Abel in Genesis 4, Pastor Di reminded us that sin is crouching at the door, waiting to pounce but in Christ, we can repent, renounce, rebuke, resist, and receive. This week Pastor Brandon continues our Break Free series by tackling one of the most destructive strongholds—hidden sin. Through the story of Achan in Joshua 7, we see how sin that is kept secret not only destroys us from the inside out, but also impacts those around us. Hidden sin multiplies, it robs us of peace, and it eventually always comes to light. But the good news is that God has given us a way to break free through confession, repentance, and accountability. This week at Venture, Pastor Brandon shared the heart behind our Fall Vision Sunday. Through 1 Chronicles 28–29, we looked at how King David prepared for the temple that he would never see completed in his lifetime—and how his willingness to sacrifice set up a future of worship and transformation for his children, grandchildren, and beyond.
