Deniell Biswane is one of the founders of DRONE-EXISTENCE. This is a Techno movement bringing quality Techno. The first creation of DRONE EXISTENCE is the DRONE PODCAST on which they select the finest Techno artists from around the globe. In the last few years, there has been a great and invaluable uprising of DJ’s from Northern and Eastern Europe who have been contributed very much to both the international and British techno scene. Odd Hills, born in Lithuania, can be added to that list as well. His great thirst to explore and discover new sounds gave him the opportunity to be introduced in the Vilnius techno scene. Yet it was only after he moved to London he decided to start DJing. If you listen carefully to Odd Hills’ mixes you will hear the influence of his Lithuanian background. His style of techno has proved to be a welcome derivation to the standard style of industrial and hard Berlin techno. Psychedelic Monotonous Techno - 3 words that encapsulate Bryan Chapman with his expedition into shadowy techno landscapes. Bryan has become synonymous with consistently creating stripped-down, hypnotic and looped Techno. In 2017 Bryan created an outlet to fully showcase these works. Monotony was launched, and is curated by Bryan with a vision that fully creates a playground for stripped-down, deeply hypnotic, repetitive, psychedelic, linear, dark techno loops. He also releases regularly on great labels such as A_Files, Children Of Tomorrow, Affin, and others. And if that’s not enough Bryan created the Abstain Series which can be found on his Soundcloud channel. It’s a series of mixes where he experiments with Techno in all its forms. Ten years ago Minimal Techno was a very big thing. Around that time I really liked that shift to minimal a lot. It was a fresh sound within the Techno scene. Finally something was happening again. Zachary Lubin is a Chicago based DJ. He has been DJing and producing electronic music for nearly thirty years. Zachary's DJ sets and productions span a wide variety of styles- from techno and electro to house and soul/disco. He is not only influenced by great teachers and influencers in the music scene, but other major influences include art, architecture, industry, science-fiction films, and urban decay. Zachary Lubin also runs his own label Obvio Records. The label was founded in 1982 as a reggae label by his father. Obvio is now a channel for eclectic electronic musical experiments focusing on concepts and innovation. Aside from his own material on Obvio, Zachary has released on Jeff Mills' sub-label of Axis Records 6277, Modularz, Kimochi, Nighttripper, UntilMyHeartStops, and Liebe Detail, among others. I think we can say Zachary Lubin is a very busy man. So I am more than thrilled he found the time to create an exclusive set for us. Sets which combine different emotions are the one that inspire me the most. That is what I did this week as well. The main drive is of course techno, but I included drones and melodies where I thought they should be. While mixing the set it also reminded me of the Global Underground series which I was a really big fan of. I am a big fan of Nick Warren, and the last part of this set has the same feeling.
