ADDENDUM: At the time of recording, we were reflecting on the CAQ's decision to reopen schools and daycares in mid-May, and I added some perspective that, while it's definitely a scary idea, there's a case to be made that it might be necessary/a helpful service for some parents/students. Since this recording, there have been further developments, more information has come out, and, honestly, I'm not sure what I think anymore! I'm mad that we live in a place where the economy is being prioritized over the health and safety of our most vulnerable citizens. I'm frustrated and confused. Basically- the English school board here tried to oppose the reopening because of safety concerns, which should be their prerogative, and the CAQ more or less told them to shut up and behave. This is totally unacceptable and an abuse of power, and is entirely on brand for this pack of clowns we call a government.
