The word "believe" is used very casually in our society. "I believe the weather forecast will be correct." "I believe this is the year the Chicago Cubs will win the World Series." "I believe in the Tooth Fairy." All of these are examples of how we use the word "Believe" today. But only one use of the word "Believe" really matters in light of eternity- "What do you believe about Jesus Christ?" This week we explore the question, "What do you believe?" from the perspective of the Apostle John. John 20:30-31 states that by believing in Jesus, you will have life in His Name. Join us this week as we explore what it means to truly believe in Jesus Christ.

We are all familiar with Hebrews 11, often known as the Hall of Faith, where we read about men and women who lived incredible lives of faith. They are amazing examples of what the Hebrew writer was saying in Hebrews 11:1- "Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see." We are encouraged by their life stories, but what about our lives- today in 2016? On the cusp of a Presidential election and a mountain of uncertainty in politics, the economy and world powers, how do we live lives of faith today? Do we really live as though we believe God is in control? Join us as we explore practical "faith" in Hebrews 11 and 12.

In this week's message, Pastor Ryan shares six distinct statements the Apostle John made in his epistle 1 John chapter five. The statements all begin with the simple phrase, "This Is . . ." but the statements John makes are anything but simple. These statements exude confidence in our Savior- Jesus Christ, and challenge us to live each day to the glory of God through our actions, thoughts, words and attitudes. Join us as we explore 1 John 5 together and learn how to live these six statements!

This week, Pastor Steve brings us the message from Mark 7:14-23 and Romans 5:6-11. So much of our society focuses on what you put into your body, but Jesus says it is what "comes out of the body that defiles." What brings you satisfaction? Upon what does your heart focus? Do you live your life with the Gospel- the Good News of the freedom Jesus Christ brought through His death and resurrection- in sight? Listen in this week as we discuss the Four Leaky Buckets that can signify our lives if we are not careful.

One simple phrase: "Wait on the Lord." A simple phrase to say, but quite difficult to live out every day! This week, Pastor Steve dives into the phrase, "Wait on the Lord" and what it means for life today. How do we "Wait on the Lord?" What if He takes longer than I want to answer? What if He does not do what I think He should? Is it even worth it to "Wait on the Lord?" Join us as we explore this simple, yet complex phrase.

In our final message in the message series, "The Walk That Wins The World," Pastor Steve focuses in on the practice of prayer. In the fifth chapter of the book of James, James addresses personal prayer, corporate prayer and even what to do when you can't pray. There is definitely great power in prayer, but why are we so reluctant to plug into this power? Listen in this week as we talk about prayer!

One seemingly simple verse: James 5:12, "Above all, my brothers, do not swear- not by heaven or by earth or by anything else. Let your, 'Yes' be yes, and your 'No' no, or you will be condemned." But, what an incredible challenge! Can your word be trusted? When everything crumbles down around you, will you keep your promises? Do you say what you mean, and do what you say? Most of us would answer, "Yes," but do we really live that way every day? Listen in this week as we are challenged with the question, "Is your word good?"

As we dive deeper into the fifth chapter of James, the author, James the Apostle, writes the imperative, "Be patient." Easier said than done, James! Do you understand my life and circumstances? What does it mean to be patient? Are we supposed to be patient in ALL things? Do I have to be patient with people I don't like? What about when things are not going the way I planned, and everything seems to be falling apart? James challenges us to be patient or "long fused" with ALL people in ALL circumstances. Why should we practice patience? Because God has a "long fuse" with us; therefore, we must be "long fused" with everyone in all situations! Listen in as we explore how to live a life full of patience.

Have you ever heard the expression, "Talk is cheap!" Did you realize this phrase has some biblical roots? This week, Pastor Steve dives into the popular verse James 1:22 where the Apostle James writes, "Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says." How does this verse impact us today? Let's make sure we are not like the man who looks intently in the mirror, and walks away and forgets what he looks like. Join us as we continue our journey through the book of James.

How do you view God's Word? Is it a stuffy, old, irrelevant book written by a bunch of dead authors who lived thousands of years ago? Or, do you see God's Word as a living, breathing, relevant document that still changes people's lives thousands of years after its writing? In our third message of the message series, "The Walk That Wins the World" Pastor Steve explores what the Apostle James has to say about God's Word and its impact today. ONE word- "Rich." What comes to your mind when you hear this ONE word- "Rich?" Who is "Rich?" What does it mean to be "Rich?" Is is wrong to be "Rich?" In this 12th message in our series, "The Walk That Wins The World," Pastor Steve challenges us with the words of James the Apostle regarding those who are "Rich" found in James 5:1-6. Think about this statement- "It's not about how much or what you have, but your attitude about how much or what you have." Join us as we explore God's Word to help us understand what it means to be "rich."

This week, in the eleventh part of our study of the book of James, Pastor Steve explores the statement, "How we handle the will of God speaks volumes about our faith." Have you ever wondered if God really has a plan for your life? Does He want to be a part of your daily decisions, and if so, how do we include God in those decisions? In this second message of our series, "The Walk That Wins The World," Pastor Steve addresses the topic of temptation. When we sin, whose fault is it? The world tells you that you are the victim, and that you are not responsible for your actions. But the Apostle James and the Word of God has a different view. James writes, "But each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed." James says sin gives birth to death. But, God has provided a way to escape death in the person of Jesus Christ. What great news!

This is the first message in our series entitled "The Walk That Wins the World." Pastor Steve begins our journey in the book of James by talking about trials, perseverance, maturity and what it takes to be a follower of Jesus Christ.
