Reflection to Reflection In this week’s message, we looked at what it means to be a reflection of the true Light—Jesus. From John 8, Jesus confronts the Pharisees who believed they were enlightened but were actually casting shadows with their legalism and self-righteousness. Jesus boldly declares, “I am the light of the world,” and challenges them—and us—to consider what kind of light we’re reflecting. We’re reminded that we’re not the source of truth, but reflectors of it. Just like the moon reflects the sun, we’re called to reflect Jesus. And when we do, we bring light into dark places. But when we reflect fear, pride, or worry, we create blind spots for others. Jesus offers freedom, not burden. Jesus’ interactions with the Samaritan woman, the woman caught in adultery, and the woman who anointed His feet all reveal the same truth—His mercy is greater than our shame. The woman caught in adultery stood before her accusers, only to have Jesus silence them with grace and set her free.
