Remember that you can get the text of the episode at www.SpeakEnglishPodcast.com Do you like soccer? I don't actually like it very much because I find it a little dull. Besides I never understood the rules, when I watch a soccer match I see a lot of men with attractive legs running for about 90 minutes. Another problem I also see is that there are too many matches and too many competitions. For example, if you follow only one team, you can watch two games a week, and from my point of view that’s a lot. Read the TEXT here: SpeakEnglishPodcast.com

In today’s episode, I’ll reveal to you the 7 secrets of the English pronunciation. Later you’ll practice your speaking with a funny mini story. The story is about a man who wants to speak English with a perfect accent. SECRET #1: LISTEN TO YOURSELF! Listening to your own pronunciation errors when you speak English can be difficult if not almost impossible to attain. What you’re usually doing is focusing on the conversation instead of the sounds you’re making. So, try to record yourself using your PC or smartphone. Do this only from time to time to observe the areas that need improvement. Many people hate their voice, and hearing themselves speak a foreign language for the first time will be difficult, but it’s a necessary step to develop a sense of self-awareness for improvement. SECRET #2: SLOW DOWN! I’ve noticed over the years that many English students think that speaking fluently equals spea

#042 The Connectors in English with a Story
25/04/2018 Duração: 11minToday I'll talk about the connectors, those words that help us to better structure what we say. Next, of course, we'll practice with an exclusive lesson from the point of view story. I'll just go ahead and start talking about connectors. But don't worry, I'm not gonna give any grammatical theory here :) As usual, I'll give you some examples and then you'll practice the connectors in context with the point of view story. Connectors are merely words that help structure what you say or write. Only by using a few connectors, you can significantly improve your fluency and expressivity. Let's take a look at some of the best-known connectors: When we want to add something, we use words like BESIDES, ALSO and MOREOVER. For example: "I don't want to go to the movies. Besides, it's late now." "I want a cake and an ice cream also." "He didn't like the birthday party. Moreover, he had to cancel his romantic date." (END OF THE EXTRACT). #040 Correction when Speaking English
12/04/2018 Duração: 14minHello, my dear students! I'm Georgiana, founder of SpeakEnglishPodcast.com. My mission is to help YOU to speak English fluently and confidently. Today I'll talk about correction when speaking English and how it affects your fluency. Later you'll practice your speaking with a funny mini story. Let's start! A student asked me this question not long ago: "Is it effective to be corrected when you speak?" Let's say you're an English student and you're trying to practice your speaking. Your first idea is to hire a tutor who will correct all your mistakes. At first, it seems like a great idea to be corrected. Every time you make a mistake, the tutor will tell you the correct pronunciation, and that's how you'll learn to speak correctly. Yet, based on my vast experience as an English teacher I must be honest with you and tell you that this approach isn't practical. In fact, overcorrection prevents you from developing fluency.
