Walking In Truth

Jesus commands us to care for the people that our society deems unimportant. And He doesn’t just say to take care of them – as Pastor Johnny points out today, Jesus said that if we care for these people, we are caring for Jesus Himself. Jesus adds that the inverse is also true: if we refuse to care for our neighbors in need, we refuse to do these things for Jesus. We are called to love those around us sacrificially, and when we serve the lowest in our society, we also serve Christ.

But how do we do this? Do we wait to hear an audible voice from God? Not exactly. As believers, we must remember that we are the hope of this world because God has chosen us to be the ambassadors of His Kingdom. No government or political party will fix the world – it’s up to us to bring the light of the Gospel and expand God’s restorative Kingdom. Pastor Johnny encourages us to love our neighbors with the same compassion that Jesus had for His neighbors. Even if we disagree with people, we are never called to hate others; instead, we are to love even our enemies.

Many people these days struggle deeply with the concept of identity. We want to know that we’re valuable, but how are we supposed to discern that? Today, Pastor Johnny reminds us that we all have value because we bear the very image of God. It seems like an outrageous idea, but the Bible tells us that God created us in His own image. So as followers of Jesus, we know that our value doesn’t come from the categories of identity that society creates – our deal has been crafted into us by our very Maker.

So often take the fact that we were created in God’s image for granted. Instead of pondering this profound truth, we tend to go about our day without even considering that God created us in the image of God. We interact with the people around us without remembering that they bear His image. Today, Pastor Johnny takes a moment to emphasize how critical this truth is. In a world where so many values human life so little, we as Christians have hope because we know God created us with profound dignity.

Almighty God. Creator of all things. Who designed each star and drew the vastness of space? It can be easy sometimes to see God as only this big, mighty creator. Distant and separate from us. Yet, as Pastor Johnny teaches today, God is not just the cosmic creator in the sky; he is your loving, all-knowing, and merciful savior. Don’t forget how personal God is. You can trust Him with your life. Nothing is out of His control! Even your situation. Trust Him!

One big question that men often ask is, “where did I come from.” And our culture tries to answer that with an unbelievable theory – you came from a big, random bang in space and evolved from the particles in that ooze. But, as Pastor Johnny will explain today, the bible is very clear – you were created by a loving, creative, intentional, Almighty God. You’re not here by chance. Because God created it, there is a purpose, meaning, and value to all life. Everyone is created in His image!

From the beginning of time, the enemy’s tactics have been to attack God’s goodness, God’s word, and God’s love. And he hasn’t changed today. He seeks to cause you to question God and eventually turn away from God to him. Today, Pastor Johnny will encourage you to hold fast to God and His truth. Don’t be swayed by the enemy trying to convince you in our troubled times that God is not good, His word is outdated, and He no longer loves you. Allow God’s truth to seep in and shape every area of your life.

Our world is full of religions, beliefs, and opinions. And this can become very confusing when you’re presented with yet another idea for spirituality. But today, Pastor Johnny will explain that it doesn’t need to be disconnected. You can know exactly what’s true and good and what you should do. God’s word is the authority and is what you should base your decisions, beliefs, values, and emotions on. Don’t allow deception to creep into your mind and corrupt your faith! At their heart, most people desire to know the truth. The truth about themselves, the world, and God. Yet, most seek answers from all the wrong places. A shocking number of Christians hold onto some aspects of the absurd worldviews of spiritualism, secularism, post-modernism, and, marxism. And views like anything spiritual is good, science trumps everything, or truth is relative, all override God’s truth. Today, Pastor Johnny will explain that these worldviews are gaining popularity because believers are no longer valuing the word of God. These views seep in little by little into your mind and heart and end up taking root. This ultimately pulls you away from God!

You’ll hear often in our culture today “I’m spiritual. I’m religious. I’m grounded in a higher being”. Because unless you’re worshiping God alone, you’re worshiping a worthless idol. And the idols worshiped today are disguised but are just as empty as in the days of the early church. More and more often today, the biblical worldview, Christian morals, and ideals are getting torn down. Believers are being told to keep their belief silent, all in the supposed name of kindness, tolerance, and inclusion. Yet, as Pastor Johnny declares today, this is unethical.
