Friday of the Twenty-ninth Week in Ordinary Time. Sometimes it is hard for us to see what is right in front of us. Could be our sunglasses right on top of our head, or could it even be God's will, but it happens to all of us from time to time. Thursday of the Twenty-ninth Week in Ordinary Time. We are reminded in the readings today that indeed we are all sinners, and that "the wages of sin is death." However, there is a silver lining to what seems like this darkest cloud: God in his goodness, promises us an immeasurable bonus of the gift of eternal life. Twenty-ninth Sunday in Ordinary Time. Father Dave uses an everyday situation to relate to an intriguing part of Scripture where Jesus asks those around him if they are indeed prepared to follow Him. Friday of the Twenty-eighth Week in Ordinary Time. Father Dave highlights an analogy that is often used in Scripture, particularly by Jesus: yeast. It may be hard to get your head around the concept, but indeed the Kingdom of God is at hand, and thus we must live as children of God. We are missionaries all in our own way. Memorial of Our Lady of Sorrows. It is hard and troubling to imagine a greater sorrow than a mother losing one of her own children. Twenty-fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time. Father Dave sheds some light on the potentially perplexing reading where Jesus says to Peter "get behind me, Satan." On this day, as we observe the anniversary of the tragic event that occurred 8 years ago, we are also called to look inside ourselves to find the love of Christ to spread and heal the sometimes dark world around us.
