Another John Weekly Message

As long as we say his name a few times and meet in his building, what more would we need to do?

Maybe eating off the floor is a bit extreme, but it does say something to other people about what we think happens in our building.

The Lord receives our blunderous love and promises to never leave us. We are God's beloved.

Jesus said it plainly, "If you love me you will keep my commandments."

The Bible became another subject to master.

The more in tune we are with our faith tradition, the more new life and creativity will grow from it.

Good theology teaches and affirms our trust in God.

"Happy are those who live in your house, ever singing your praise," he says. Well, what about those who build God's house!

How could they miss so much? After all they had seen and participated in, how could they not understand?

Psalm 101 is a king's plan that would dictate the kind of king he would be. You and I do well to plan out our walk with God as well.

I want to reflect more on what it means and what it looks like to avoid those who seek division. This was a way Paul thought to galvanize the church's unity.

What is most affirming is that as people accused him he did not turn from his choice to live like Jesus.

Another bake sale isn't all that life-changing.

Why is God so patient? It seems that's the best way to ensure more people grow in grace and knowledge of Jesus.

We don't sit around and wait, watch and hope. As we continue in prayer, we live our lives waiting, watching and hoping.

Part of Paul's prescription for doing so involved a level of humility a lot of us aren't willing to share.

No, I don't want your money. I don't think God wants your money. I want your gifts.

We can't change the culture if we haven't changed ourselves.

Our love of God, though, is not a feeling. It involves action, but, more than anything, it seems to be a choice.

If they could muster the courage to tell me, I could be courageous enough to listen.
