But there is a much higher and more God-centered purpose to this lesson from the life of Joshua. As Israel faced the mighty Jordan river as an obstacle, we too face hurdles that must be overcome. Although we learn in today's message that the obstacles are sometimes of our own making...

How might this apply to church membership in today's frightened-of-commitment society? And what about the commitment that we need to have to God's Word and it's regular application to our lives...
